Multimedia Final

Here is my last video for my Multimedia 2 class. It kinda just shows and explains what I've been up to this last quarter. Hope you like it!

Website

Here is a website that you should check out to learn more about the crew and people that are involved with the Photography Network and that made the tv interview with Mel Scott and Gregory Heisler happen.
http://www.photographynetwork.tv/

Oh my gosh!

Today was AMAZING at school today. As I stated a few posts before that Gregory Heisler was going to be coming to our school. He spoke today and showed us some of his work and WOW! Thats all I can say. He is the neatest guy, entertaining, and so humble. I cannot believe I got to meet him and get my photo with him! I will be posting that as soon as possible. What a neat experience, I will not forget. The host was Melvin Scott, what a neat man! He is a photographic editor and really knows his stuff. But not only did he interview Mr. Heisler, but he gave his own advice to us and encouragement, which meant a great deal.

This was one of my favorite photos of Mr. Heisler's...awesome!

Photo J

Here is my video from my Photo Journalism class. It was a lot of hard work and very difficult, but really pushed me. I wanted to shoot at Stone Mountain Park at Christmas time and show it from the performer's perspective. Hope you enjoy!

Denis Reggie

We have been learning about a lot of professional photographers at school, that have been in the field of photography for quite some time. The experiences that these photographers have had are awesome and their work is amazing! Another photographer that was at our school is Denis Reggie.
A lot of people in class have been blogging about him, but I found a website that has a lot of his work on there. Check it out, it's pretty sweet!

Headshots

So, one my friends is an actress and she is needing some new headshots. She asked me to shoot her, which I was thrilled to do for her but I started to look some stuff up on how to shoot it. I've been around theater and that seen, but as a photographer I have never shot headshots before.
Here is a good website, really for actors, but it also is pretty interesting and gives some good tips. Check it out!

Gregory Heisler

So, yeah this guy is amazing! Gregory Heisler has been in every magazine you can think of, and is just an amazing photographer. Whats more is that he is coming to my school tomorrow!!! I'm really excited, so check out his website.

I interviewed Jeremy Doublestein with Three Ring Media the other day. He talked about how photography and videography are similar and then transition from photos to videos. Thanks Jeremy!

a friend of mine

Here is a wedding photographer, Brian Steele, that is a friend of mine, that has only been in the business for a couple years but has a very creative eye and is an awesome photographer. I really admire his work and think his images are awesome. Check him out!

More Christmas!

Here are a couple more photos from Stone Mountain. These I just really love the lights! Especially in Crossroads EVERYTHING is stranded with lights, down to the last nook and cranny. It's beautiful!

Wedding Shower

Me and my Mom threw one of my friend's a wedding shower a week ago. It was a lot of fun! I took some photos of some of the decorations and food that we made. The photo of the cake was my first Chocolate Torte I've ever made. Enjoy!

"Fa ra ra ra ra, ra ra ra!!!!!"

Well, it's Christmas time again! I've been shooting at Stone Mountain Park for my final four and have been seeing and taking lots of photos of the lights, people and the Christmas trees! The trees are beautiful and here are a few shots I took from there. I LOVE this time of the year! Check out some more here!

Commercial Photography at GTC

So, in case anyone is interested in photography, check out Gwinnett Technical College's program! It has a commercial photography program and this video was made by some of the students in the program. So, watch, learn and enjoy!

Jose Villa

I've put a video up about Jose Villa before but I don't believe I've shown any of his work. He is an amazing wedding photographer, that I really admire. He has workshops that I would LOVE to attend, but they, of course are ridiculously expensive. But we'll see what happens! Check out his stuff!

Color Schemes in CS4

SO, I didn't know you could even do this! It's pretty cool! Check it out!

It's Michael!!!!

So, here is another video I found of Michael the Mentor. He is talking more about the sensors in your camera in a different way. It's pretty sweet.

Environmental

Here are a couple photos for my environmental assignment. I went to my mom's work to shoot. She works at a Christian Bookstore in Snellville. It was a lot of fun. My mom cracks me up and most of these poses she came up with herself. It was all I could do to hold the camera steady while I was laughing so hard. Enjoy!

Glamor

I had the privilege of shooting Emily for my Glamor shoot last week. It was freezing, but I had a blast! She of course looked gorgeous and I'm thrilled with out how it all came out. Every time I get the opportunity to shoot, I learn more and realize how much I love it! Check out more photos of my glamor shoot on Flickr.

Executive Photo

Last Monday my class got to shoot photos of some of the staff at Gwinnett Technical College. It was a great experience! A little nerve racking, but helped us to be able to think on our feet as far as what to shoot, how to shoot it, the lighting and what not. My subject was Jerry Miller, the electrician. He was a really nice guy and we had a lot of fun!
Ahhh I forgot to put this, but I really want to thank Josh (my assistant) and John for helping me last week to shoot this! Couldn't have done it without y'all! Thanks a lot!

Clark University

So, me, Do, Rosira and Suchi all went to go shoot some photos of Bill Clinton speaking late this afternoon in Atlanta. We wanted to take are cameras and try to get some shots while we were there to use our photojournalism skills. Ha! It was such a great experience! Kinda scary, fun, exciting and something I won't forget. I have many stories from it. Of course it all was running late and I had to leave, so I never got to shoot Clinton, the main thing! Kinda messed up right? But I had fun, got some shots and learned a lot. So, I guess it was worth it all, check out some of my shots if you like.

Heeeeeelp!!!!

Hey Everybody, I'm trying to get my header to fit in the box and it's going just over the edge on one side. I've tried to crop and do stuff to it, but it's not working. Does anyone know how to fix this? Please let me know if you do! Thanks so much!

How pixels get their color

Here is another intersting video of Michael the Mentor talking about pixels or rather sensels and how they show color. Pretty cool how it all works together. Check it out!

Michael the Mentor with focusing

OK, here is another video with Michael the Mentor. Some of y'all probably know all about this, but there are certain things I didn't know our cameras could do. So, even though I only have a Canon 20D, and this video is for a Canon 50D, I found it very interesting.

Helen First Baptist Church

Today me and Emily and Do all went up to Helen to shoot some photos of this church (Helen First Baptist Church) in Helen for their website. Emily had the connection there and asked us to assist her. It was a great experience! Every time I shoot I learn new things. Working with my flash helps and talking and meeting new people is a neat thing. The people at the church were so friendly and so welcoming, what a neat thing to get to do what you love, learn, meet people and work with your friends! I hope we get to go back and shoot more! Check out some more!

Ok, I've been making a lot of posts about my header. I'm still trying to work on it so here are a couple more options that I've made a few changes to from the last headers. Thanks for all the comments! But if y'all can let me know again what you think that would be awesome! Thanks!

Interview with Emily

This is an interview with my friend Emily for Multimedia 2 class.

Michael the Mentor

My friend Emily, showed me this really cool photographer that makes videos on you tube. He explains to you, how to use your camera. If you are a new photographer, it's very helpful that he explains how your shutter speed and aperture work together, what your histogram is and the difference between a point and shoot camera and an SLR. He also will answer any questions you may have. Here is a short video of him talking about Photoshop CS4, enjoy!

Header 2

Here is another header that I changed just slightly. I moved my name to the middle, and took the red letter in design away. Let me know if you all like this one better! Thanks!

My Nieces

Here are some photos I had to shoot for my photojournalism class. They are my sister's dogs (Dixie and Scarlet) and are a lot of fun! I really enjoyed shooting them playing with each other. Dogs are like in kids in that they do crazy, random things. This makes it fun for me! The girls also love to play through the fence with their neighbor dog, Chloe. I found it quite difficult at first, because they are constantly moving, which is also a good thing in itself. However, it kept me on my toes, but I had a lot of fun! Enjoy

Header

I've been trying to work on my blog and I found this template I liked and so I wasn't satisfied with my photo of the barn so I changed it to the railroad tracks. Let me know what you all think! Thanks!

Fill Flash

In Photojournalism class we have a fill flash assignment thats due. Here are a few photos I shot Sunday late afternoon. I shot my sister by a lake at Stone Mountain Park. It was getting pretty cold when we were shooting, but it was a lot of fun. I tried to use a white board and bounce my flash off of it, to create a soft box affect. Thanks Jessica for the good tips! Hope you enjoy! Click here for more

MORE dog photos

So, can you tell I love dogs? Ha! I put up a photo of my dog lex early but my older sister actually owns Lex's 2 sisters. So, I will be putting up some more photos. Check back!

Jose Villa

This wedding photographer, Jose Villa that I really admire. His photos are amazing and I would love to go to one of his workshops someday, when I have money...ha!
Here is his website and blog. Enjoy the video!

Post Election

Today for Photo Journalism, our assignment was to shoot something to do with the election the day after. I went to a voter registration office and saw that Channel 2 and Fox 5 was there with their cameras. I went in and ended up getting to shoot some of them interviewing people. It was pretty exciting! The first photo is a lady that was a worker counting the ballots. In Gwinnett, the absentee ballots would not go through the counting machines so they had to count them all by hand. This lady stayed all night. The second photo is Gwinnett County's Media Relations and Publications Manager. She explained to the press the situation.

Lex

Here is a photo of my dog, Lex. He is almost one years old. I love this photo, it captures his personality. Enjoy

Le Flash

So, as I mentioned last post, I went to the art stroll that was in Castleberry Hill Historic District and Le Flash came. The art stroll was many blocks and maybe varying artists of all kinds were involved. I've never been to something like that and it was quite an experience. Some things included a sculpture out of florescent lights, huge flowers illuminated by lights made out of pantyhose (they were beautiful!), a fashion show, a truck lit with lights with a fountain at the top and so much more! It was different but very enjoyable!
I will be posting a few pics that I took that night soon! So, check back!

High Key

Another photo shoot for advanced portraiture, this was High Key. And my beautiful sister was who I was privileged to shoot. She's a perfect model. She's gorgeous and so easy to work with. Biased, maybe, but hope you enjoy!

Bella!

So, for my advanced portraiture class over a week ago, we had to shoot children. So, I picked my neighbor's kid and she was adorable! I had a great time and learned how difficult it can be to capture that moment, but I enjoyed it. Enjoy!

Hollywood

So, about a week ago my class had an assignment of shooting animals. I picked this lady's dog that I used to work with. The dog is a golden retriever/chow mix and her name is Hollywood. She was adorable, and a great sport! What fun. Enjoy! Check back for more photos!

Holidays!!!

Well, the holidays are right around the corner, and at my school we are shooting Holiday Portraits. We have been working on the set and here are a few photos from the other day.
